Attendance Allowance

The government is proposing to transfer the Attendance Allowance to local authorities to administer. If this were to happen, the likelihood is that far fewer people would get it as the local authority would probably apply its eligibility threshold and may even just add the money to its pool. The Attendance Allowance may make the difference between being able to charge for - and therefore provide - 24/7 care in housing with care schemes, and not being able to. Along with other welfare benefit changes, would this be the fnal straw for affordable/social sector housing with care schemes. If you agree, do sign the petition at the link above and spread the word.
