Decked access on new build extra care

Have any providers got experience of building extra care with decked access, giving some outdoor corridor space leading off the flat front doors. If so can you let me have details of your experience and if you would have them again, we are currently working on a scheme and are looking to put them in some corridors. The resident when coming out of their flat would be coming into an outdoor space.
