Booking is now underway for the Dorset Sheltered Housing Conference which is being held on Monday 7th July 2014 in Dorchester.

This conference is free to everyone except providers and agencies not currently commissioned by Dorset County Council. For these providers and agencies places are £50 each.

I attach a copy of the programme which includes keynote presentations by Catherine Driscoll, Director for Adult and Community Services, Dorset County Council and Jeremy Porteus, Director, Housing Learning and Improvement Network. It also includes updates on the Care Bill and the Deprivation of Liberty rules as well as a 'Laughter is the best medicine' session.

The conference is intended to be of interest and relevance to sheltered housing managers, support workers and indeed anyone with an interest in Sheltered Housing.

The conference will kick off the process of strategy review for sheltered housing services commissioned by the County Council and participants will have the opportunity to participate in a workshop considering the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of current Sheltered Housing services.
