New extra care scheme opened in Bideford

Sanctuary Group’s latest extra care scheme has been officially opened in Bideford by Councillor Jane Whittaker, leader of Torridge District Council.

Known as Moreton Court, the £7 million complex comprises 59 self contained, one and two-bedroom apartments for the over 55s – 41 for rent and 18 for shared ownership. An interesting aspect of the build process was the installation of ready-made modular bathrooms manufactured off site by a supplier in the South West. This method brought time gains to the overall delivery timetable.

Residents live independently in their own home but have the added peace of mind that comes from having dedicated staff on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They can also access a package of tailored care and support as their needs change.
