Sheltered Accommodation - Eligibility Criteria

I'd like to hear from anyone who has widen their eligibility criteria to include assessed 'care needs' in additional to housing support needs.

Hi,

I'd be happy to chat through with you from Hanover's perspective. We work throughout the country and have been asked to review a number of eligibility criteria for our EC schemes, many of which are combined care and support needs.

Hi - you can access our eligibility criteria for extra care housing by going to www.sunderland.gov.uk/extracare. The document you need to view is called 'extra care eligibility and allocations procedure' which is listed to the right of the webpage - it combines housing and care/support needs.

Although this is for extra care housing rather than sheltered housing, the principles should be similar and you may be able to find some information in there which is helpful.

We too have eligibility criteria for Extra Care , but I would be interested to know if anyone has applied this thinking to general sheltered .

Thank you for all your responses, I am particularly interested in whether anyone has widened the usage of standard sheltered accomadation (not extra care) for other client groups, for example, LD, MH and PD for younger older adults. Or if anyone has included an assessed care need if their eligibility criteria?

If you have any examples of this, I would been keen to hear from you.
