use of dvd's in lounges
we have been approached by a licensing company advising that if residents are watching a movie we require a license for theme to be able to watch it.
please can anyone advise if this is the case - it has never been an issue or come up in the past

The company is doing the rounds. The communal lounge is for the residents and therefore an extension of their own home and therefore special licences are not required. My understanding is that as long as the organisation doesn't organise or promote the film night then there is no liability on behalf of the organisation.
