Assessing the Housing Needs of Older People in Wales: A practitioner workshop
Event date
Presentation notes and slides
Description
Last year, the then Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty, Lesley Griffiths, made an oral statement to the National Assembly for Wales on the establishment of an expert group to advise the Government in 2016 on its future policy approach to housing an ageing population. Click here (opens new window) for details.
To further explore the technical issues surrounding the assessment of housing need and identify practical solutions which seek to respond to that need, we are bringing together a group of local authority, housing and social care sector leaders to attend this 'invite only' workshop on the afternoon of Wednesday, 23 November 2016, Jurys Inn, Cardiff. The aim of this workshop is to learn more about the opportunities and barriers of assessing the housing needs of older people in Wales and to help develop future materials that can form the basis for guidance in housing and care settings.
