Audience
- Strategic Leaders - This course is designed for managers working at a strategic level in housing associations, private organisations, and local authorities. If you are part of your organisation's senior management team or equivalent, or a board member, then the programme is likely to be of interest to you. If you work for a local authority and have responsibility for commissioning and/or management of housing at a senior level then the programme is likely to be of relevance and benefit to you.
- Scheme Managers - This part of the programme is aimed at operational managers responsible for specialist provision and/or general needs housing. If you manage housing services where older people are tenants and have some responsibility for staff and resources then the programme is for you.
It is important that participants have the support of their organisation. It is expected that participant's attend all the programme days and are prepared to undertake some work between the sessions.
We are also encouraging organisations to consider sending representation to both the Strategic Leaders and Scheme Managers programme, as making the organisational and cultural change necessary to support developing person centred services for older people with dementia requires 'buy-in' across an organisation. In recognition of this connection, a discount of 10% will be applied to the Strategic Leaders course when an organisation books a place on both courses. However, please note it is not a condition that your organisation is based in area or that you send people on both courses. All suitable applications will be considered.

Aims
All participants will have developed a greater knowledge and confidence in working with people with dementia and their carers. You will be able to identify what needs to change in the organisation and/or your service(s) to enhance the quality and relevance of services that are provided and what this means for the people you manage and local partners you work with. You will create a plan for taking this forward.
