Housing People With Dementia – Planning and delivering services to meet the challenge - London seminar

Event date

Presentation notes and slides

Description

At the start of 2012 the Prime Minister outlined the Dementia Challenge. With approximately 800,000 people with dementia in the UK and two-thirds of people with the condition living in the community, the challenge is for organisations, including housing providers, and communities to take positive action.

The financial cost in the UK is already reaching £23bn and local authority resources are tightening as care needs increase. Therefore it is understandable that half of people with dementia and their carers report they are not receiving sufficient support and care.

Attend this important seminar to discover the vital role all housing providers have to play, whether that is in helping to improve diagnosis of people with dementia or through providing good housing and related services which enable people with dementia to live independently for longer.

Programme

Speakers include:

  • Anna Gaughan, Chief Executive, Life Story Network
  • Jane Mindar, Project Manager, LiveTime, Riverside
  • Victoria Metcalfe, Dementia Consultant, Anchor Trust
