Housing services for older people and the new health and wellbeing agenda (supported by the HLIN) - Birmingham
Event date
Description
To be held in Birmingham - Venue TBC
The introduction of Health and Wellbeing Boards from April 2013 is one element of significant change underway in health and social care services. Government is seeking a more holistic approach to meeting population outcomes involving consideration of the wider influences on health and wellbeing including housing.
This change presents both challenges and opportunities for housing associations ; staff need to develop new relationships with health commissioners and understand the drivers affecting health and wellbeing strategies.
This one day workshop builds on the good practice set out in the Strategic Housing for Older People Resource Pack (SHOP) and the subsequent Housing LIN briefing paper Health, Wellbeing, and the Older People Housing Agenda.
It will help senior staff in housing associations, particularly those responsible for business development, to forge constructive business relationships with the NHS and Health and Wellbeing boards, and be able to describe how housing services contribute to their agendas. The workshops will help you identify possible business opportunities and how these may be further developed
