Programme

The focus of the meeting is 'Creating housing choices for life' and is one of a series of regional seminars that the Housing LIN is delivering in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) to explore the role of retirement housing in developing a better offer for older people.

We will be drawing on recent work by the University of Northumbria on sheltered housing, latest national policy perspectives and examples of local operational delivery to aid your learning and improvement. In addition, this rich mix of content and findings from all the seminars will feed into a forthcoming publication from the CIH/Housing LIN.

These schemes have 'sheltered housing officers' (SHO) (previously wardens) whose job is to manage the scheme and help arrange any services tenants need.
