Rural Housing for an Ageing Population - Harrogate
Event date
Presentation notes and slides
Description
With a growing ageing population in rural communities, and more rural services disappearing, the challenges facing older people in rural communities - mainly around independence and wellbeing - are becoming more apparent.
The Inquiry report makes a number of 'rural proofing' recommendations to increase the quality, supply and range of more appropriate age-friendly housing. It also recognises the need to build greater resilience and connectivity amongst local communities across all ages in the countryside.
With inputs from Lord Best and other key figures, the conference will explore the findings and recommendations of this inquiry further, including:
- The Policy Context and challenge of delivering Older People's Housing in Rural communities
- How fit for purpose is existing housing stock in rural communities?
- Removing barriers to help people remain in their locality
- Tackling isolation and loneliness
- Showcasing best practice and innovative approaches in delivering on this agenda from across the Country
- And much more.
