With the government's Older People's Housing Taskforce in full swing and due to report in 2024, we were thrilled to kick off this year's annual Summit with a session looking at the past, present and future of extra care housing, supported by The ExtraCare Charitable Trust.
We were pleased to welcome Helen Whately, Minister for Social Care for the Department of Health and Social Care, who provided an overview of the Older People’s Housing Taskforce, its aims and objectives, as well as key asks.
Chaired by Jeremy Porteus, CEO of Housing LIN, you'll also gain insights into:
- The ExtraCare Charitable Trust's journey with extra care
- A resident perspective on the transformative impact of transitioning to extra care housing
- How extra care housing plays a key role in delivering strategic outcomes
- And the importance of care in housing with care.
We then ended the session with questions from the audience!
Event feedback:
- Good introduction to the week, and especially the resident perspective.
- Very well put together, interesting presenters and concepts.
- It's an informative and collaborative session with lots of useful knowledge sharing discussions.
