The Levelling Up, Homes and Communities Committee has this week launched an Inquiry on disabled people and the housing sector. It is now accepting calls for evidence until 21 September 2023.

Yesterday, DHSC and DLUHC launched a call for evidence from the Older People’s Housing Taskforce seeking evidence to help it consider and further understand the market and needs for older peoples housing today, and to provide recommendations to minister on how it can be shaped for the future.

The government has committed to adopt an 18-metre height threshold for second staircases in all new residential buildings following cross-sector calls on this issue.
