A National Care Service for Scotland – Consultation
In February 2021 the Independent Review of Adult Social Care report was published. It concluded that whilst there were strengths in Scotland's social care system it needed revision and redesign to enable a step change in the outcomes for the people in receipt of care. The creation of a National Care Service was a key recommendation.
As an opportunity to address some of the challenges across social care highlighted before and during the pandemic, this consultation focuses on exploring the proposals for significant cultural and system change that will need to be supported by primary legislation.
As part of the consultation process, the Scottish Government are running a series of online engagement events (opens new window) throughout August, September and October.
