ADASS 2024 Spring Survey takes the pulse of adult social care
This year’s ADASS Spring Survey report is now out. With a new government now in place, it highlights the current pressing operating climate for adult social care - the financial situation, the increasing complexity of need, etc - and the resultant challenge in meeting their statutory duties.
However, it also makes the case for investing in ‘care closer to home’ measures to redress the balance including housing and upscaling digital technology.
A specific section on housing and accommodation (para 8.1.2) recognises the preventative health and social care dividend in investing in our homes and communities; from purpose built new age-friendly housing to adapting our existing stock.
And on digital technology (para 8.1.3), directors of adult social care believe that integrating and expanding technology can significantly impact the social care workforce by enabling new models of care and increasing opportunities for self-care.
Commenting on the Survey, Housing LIN’s CEO, Jeremy Porteus said:
“It is very good to see the case made in this Survey how investing in affordable and accessible homes, aids and adaptations, and digital technology are integral to local health and social care economies. Now let’s embed the HAPPI and TAPPI principles in our DNA.”
