APPG Inquiry into Regeneration of Outdated Sheltered Housing reconvenes for third meeting
We're thrilled to announce the third meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Housing and Care for Older People Inquiry into the Regeneration of Outdated Sheltered Housing, set to take place at Millbank House in the House of Lords on Tuesday 14th November 2023.
This inquiry aims to explore the best ways to regenerate our existing stock of outdated sheltered housing to meet the expectations of the 21st century. Chaired by the esteemed Lord Best, this session will bring together a diverse group of sector leaders to delve into the topics of demolition, replacement, and repurposing of outdated sheltered housing.
This session welcomes representatives from Anchor, Metropolitan Thames Valley Homes, and PRP, who will share their unique approaches to regeneration, new builds, and innovative design. Additionally, Torus will provide insights into their experience of repurposing a sheltered housing scheme as safe accommodation for those experiencing domestic abuse.
This session marks the third of five before the call for evidence concludes on Friday, 23 February 2024. The inquiry is actively seeking evidence related to sheltered/retirement housing in both the social and private sectors, encompassing various tenures such as social rent, affordable rent, leasehold, sale, and shared ownership. Discover the specifics of the evidence sought by the inquiry and submit your contributions by emailing this document to the Inquiry Secretariat at research@housinglin.org.uk
