Advancing Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in Housing for Older Adults

Advancing equality diversity and inclusion banner

The Housing LIN Summit - A Festival of Ideas is back for a week-long virtual event filled with inspiring conversations starting Monday, 26 February 2024. Join us for FREE sessions every morning and afternoon to watch, listen, and learn from prominent figures in the housing, health, care, and technology industries.

Supported by leading specialist retirement housing operator, Housing 21, this Housing LIN Summit session puts the spotlight on how the sector is embracing equality, diversity and inclusion in the way it delivers housing, care and support for older people.

The session will explore work in a range of deprived communities to overturn the marginal housing choices on offer for older people, including cohousing. We will also be joined by colleagues from two University-led research projects that are actively including people to codesign solutions that address their experiences of housing inequity and health and care inequalities.

Chaired by Jeremy Porteus, CEO of Housing LIN, we'll be joined by:

  • Ian Hodson, Director of People and Culture and Tahir Idris, Respect and Inclusion Partner, Housing 21

  • Teresa Atkinson, Senior Research Fellow, and Julie Barrett, Housing and Dementia Research Consortium (HDRC) Research Coordinator, The University of Worcester
  • Bashir Uddin, Chief Executive at Bangla Housing Association and Manik Deepak-Gopinath, Lecturer, The Open University

We are extremely grateful to all the sponsors who have made this year's Housing LIN Virtual Summit - A Festival of Ideas, possible. This session is supported by Associate sponsor Housing 21.
