Age UK reports calls for improvement on the delivery of adaptations to older people’s homes

A Step Change Cover

This Age UK report highlights the shocking delays many older and disabled people face waiting for councils to install home aids and adaptations, making it more difficult for them to live independently at home.

Most recent figures show over two-thirds of councils took longer than six months, with some taking over 24 months due to poor administration and communication.

They urge an overhaul to increase age-friendly housing and speed up access to aids, reducing pressure on NHS.
