Are you a housing professional? Take part in this dementia awareness survey
Ahead of joining our HAPPI Hour webinar on Thursday, 22 May 2025 to coincide with Dementia Action Week, Bournemouth University lecturer Dr Aisling Flynn is seeking housing professionals to take part in a research project on dementia and the housing workforce.
The aims and objectives of this Ageing and Dementia Research Centre research project at the University of Bournemouth are:
- To explore the current level of dementia knowledge among professionals in the housing sector.
- To understand housing professionals’ experiences of working with people living with dementia and their caregivers, including specific challenging scenarios and training needs.
- To explore the experiences of people living with dementia and their families of engaging with housing professionals and identify their perceived challenges and opportunities for improved support.
As highlighted in the APPG on Housing and Care for Older People Inquiry, Housing and People with Dementia; Are we ready, workforce awareness, skills and training were identified in the resultant report and recommendations made on improving housing workforce awareness and dementia knowledge and competence levels.
Thank you for your time and support. If you have any questions or would like further information, please feel free to contact Dr Aisling Flynn (Principal Investigator) at aflynn@bournemouth.ac.uk.
