Charity Bank joins the Housing LIN’s family of sponsors
We are delighted to announce that Charity Bank, an ethical loans and savings bank that uses its savers' money to lend to charities and social purpose organisations, is a new sponsor of the Housing LIN!
Charity Bank is the loans and savings bank for charities, social enterprises and people who want to make the world a better place. Since 2002, Charity Bank has made more than 1,100 loans totalling over £400m to housing, education, social care, community and other social purpose organisations.
Recently, Charity Bank won the ‘Best Ethical Provider’ 2022 award, recognising the bank’s commitment to being a ‘Bank for Good’. Further to this, Carolyn Sims, Charity Bank’s Director of Lending, was recently announced winner of the Social Investment Champion award for her pioneering role in social impact investment.
In the face of the rising cost of living crisis, socially driven and responsible organisations play a particularly important role in the housing with care sector by directing capital towards projects that prioritise:
- affordable housing with care
- the health and well-being of older adults and people with physical and/or learning disabilities
- the creation of sustainable building practices by supporting companies that prioritise energy efficiency, renewable energy, and other environmentally friendly practices
- the creation of inclusive communities
