Co-operative values and the strength of community through the pandemic
This guest blog by Claire White from Communities Creating Homes, the Wales hub for Community-Led Housing (CLH) previews the publication of their forthcoming research into how Welsh CLH residents have endured and survived the pandemic.
It draws attention to the positive impacts attributed to living in a CLH including:
- reduced isolation and loneliness
- better physical living conditions (e.g., more outside space)
- reduced psychological/mental distress
- closer links to the wider community, and
- greater practical support (e.g. day to day tasks, shopping etc).
