Co-production Week Scotland - Putting Co-production into Practice
This week is Co-production Week Scotland - #CoProWeekScot22 (opens new window)
Co-production is a way of making decisions that combines everyone’s strengths so that we can work together to achieve positive change. It’s about shifting the balance of power in our public services and communities.
The Housing LIN would like the show support by drawing attention to a selection of Scottish co-production related projects we are currently working on:
‘Designing Homes for Healthy Cognitive Ageing: Co-Production for Impact and Scale (DesHCA)’
Led by Professor Alison Bowes at the University of Stirling, the project, brings together Scotland’s leading experts on dementia and dementia design, the building industry, architects, housing providers and people in the community.
The Housing LIN is delighted to be one of the non-academic partners in this international research project to create future-proof housing to meet the needs of the world’s ageing population.
For more about this exciting project, visit the DesHCA website (opens new window).
And also join us at next month’s HAPPI Hour session (opens new window) on urban ageing on 20 December when Professor Alison Bowes will be one of the guest speakers. It’s our last HAPPI Hour of 2022!
‘TAPPI - Phase 2: from Principles to Implementation’
The second phase of TAPPI is underway in 6 locality 'testbeds' in England, Scotland and Wales to co-produce a 'TAPPI Framework' to ensure that the 10 principles recommended during Phase 1 are developed and applied across a range of housing settings.
Our Scottish testbed Bield Housing & Care are one of the largest providers of housing and support services for older people with over 5,000 customers across 23 local authority areas in Scotland. Using a co-production approach, their ambition is to improve digital literacy and engagement with older people, develop a framework to further enhance digital engagement and usage amongst their client and staff groups and, keep more people living independently for longer using technology. Find out more.
As part of the TAPPI project, with support from our co-production and engagement partner Co-Production Works, we have also created a list of useful Co-production resources. These are available on the TAPPI microsite.
