Derby City Council publishes evaluation report that reveals Local Area Co-ordination (LAC) works
These coordinators work across Derby to support residents in the local community to help people connect with their local area, explore community-based solutions and build personal resilience.
Subject to external and internal evaluations, the team intended to make clear the extent and nature of the benefits to citizens, services and finances in Derby. This evaluation report reveals that LAC work supports residents to feel less isolation, more involved with community life, safter and motivated to work, learn and volunteer, to name a few.
In turn, this helps to reform and support local health and social care systems by reducing GP surgery visits, dependency on health and social services, health inequalities and safeguarding concerns.
