EAC Over 60s Art Awards 2012 - Now open for Entries

The Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC) is delighted to announce that the EAC Over 60s Art Awards is running again this year and that the competition is now open!

Established in 1994, the Art Awards has been encouraging older people to take up art for the first time, or to rekindle a long dormant interest, for the last 18 years. The Awards welcome entries from any amateur artist over 60, but particularly those living in later life housing, care homes and day centres.

A core aim of this year's competition is to increase the number of people who enter the Awards online and who interact with the website - in this way promoting the benefits of 'Getting Connected', as well as the more general aim of demonstrating how art and creativity can contribute to health and well-being.

The closing date for entries will be on 31 December 2012 and the prize giving event will take place at the House of Lords in February 2013.
