Government delivers extra £50 million home adaptation funding

The Government has announced an extra £50 million for the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) on top of the annual £573 million already provided.

Originally announced as part of the Next Steps to Put People at the Heart of Care (opens new window) plan, this is the first tranche of a £102 million investment over two years.

Available to homeowners, private renters and those in social housing, the funding will be delivered through the DFG will enable local authorities to provide additional services that are agile, make minor adaptations quickly and support speedier hospital discharge.
