Government sets out plans to consult on a 10-year NHS Plan

NHS England

The government has announced plans to consult with the public on its plans to formulate a 10-year NHS Plan.

Following the publication of last month’s Darzi Review, which provided an initial rapid review of the NHS when the government came into office, this consultation will be an extensive engagement exercise to ascertain the public’s views on the NHS, capture the experiences of how people have used the NHS and provide a platform to help shape what can be expected to be at the core of a 10 Year NHS Plan.

Early indications provide a glimpse of the likely direction of travel; from acute to more community-orientated health and care services, a greater attention to prevention and early intervention, and a ‘digital shift’ from analogue. To find out more about plans to create a 10-year NHS Plan and to have your say, visit NHS England’s website (opens new window) to access the consultation page.

With the Plan in mind, the Housing LIN will spotlight how housing contributes to the health agenda in our ongoing webinar series. Join us for our HAPPI Hour session on 19 November at 4pm to hear from experts in health, care and housing as they discuss how they are getting the health and housing integration message across.
