HAPPI Hour - Diversity - Still Rising to the Dementia Challenge
Coinciding with World Alzheimer’s Month, we are proud to host the Dementia and Housing Working Group’s second webinar in its quarterly series focused on housing and dementia.
🌐Online - Zoom
🗓️Tuesday 24th September 2024
🕒3.30pm - 5.15pm
This webinar addresses the challenges surrounding diversity. According to research, Black people are approximately twice as likely than white people in the same community to develop Alzheimer’s disease. Older LGBT people are more likely to be single and more likely to live on their own than heterosexual people.
Innovating in the name of inclusivity means creating solutions, products, and environments that consider and address the diverse needs of all people, regardless of their background, gender, beliefs, abilities, or circumstances.
Chaired by Professor Vic Rayner OBE, CEO of the National Care Forum, this webinar is aimed at anyone involved in housing and dementia, particularly housing providers, community groups, local authorities and people living with dementia.
