Hospice UK reports that each year hospices annually care for 300,000 people with life-limiting conditions and provide support to 60,000 of their loved ones through bereavement and counselling services.
By 2040, with an ageing population, the UK will see 130,000 more deaths each year, increasing the demand for hospice and bereavement services. These services will need to be accessible in hospices, homes, hospitals, care homes and virtually.
This HAPPI Hour webinar, kindly supported by United St Saviour’s Charity, will be chaired by Lois Beech, Consultancy and Partnership Manager at Housing LIN. We'll be joined by:
- Ken Worpole, author of Modern Hospice Design: The Architecture of Palliative and Social Care (2nd edition).
- Alison Benzimra, Head of Research and Influence at United St Saviour's, the charity behind the award-winning Appleby Blue.
- Mary Hutchison, Associate Director at PRP Architects, and last year's National Housing Design Awards winner for creating a compassionate and homely hospice environment.
