The Housing LIN looks forward to welcoming a fantastic line-up of influential figures in this session of this year's Housing LIN Summit 2021 - A Festival of Ideas!

Drawing on the experiences of senior leaders and the launch of the 2nd cohort of the Housing LIN’s Future Leaders programme, this session will call for a greater display of sector leadership to ensure the voice of specialist and supported housing is heard.

Let's take a closer look at who our speakers are and what they do!

Jeremy Porteus

Jeremy was formerly National Lead for Housing at the Department of Health responsible for the Extra Care Housing Fund and the Prevention Technology Grant programme. After leaving the Department, he founded the independent Housing LIN (Learning and Improvement Network), bringing together over 25,000 housing, health and social care practitioners in England, Wales and Scotland to identify and showcase innovative housing and technology enabled solutions for an ageing population.

Kate Henderson

Kate Henderson is Chief Executive of the National Housing Federation (NHF), the voice of housing associations in England. Kate is passionate about tackling the housing crisis, inequality and climate change. She is a member of several government panels including the Net Zero Buildings Council, Rough Sleeping Advisory Panel, and the Social Housing White Paper Expert Challenge Panel. 

Chris Smith

Chris is the Executive Director of Business Growth at Thirteen Group. Chris' focus is on business growth, including leading on strategic partnerships with Homes England, local authorities, health organisations, universities, the community and voluntary sector. Chris is responsible for identifying and developing bids and securing new business ventures, contracts, partnerships and commissioned/contracted services to create accommodation and management solutions for housing, support and care needs.

Yvonne Castle

Proud to lead Johnnie Johnson Housing as CEO, Yvonne is absolutely passionate about the JJH vision; “Living Longer, Living Better”. Yvonne is pleased to have positively used her wide experience to help drive change internally – strategically, financially and operationally - resulting in culture change, innovation and improved performance for customers.  She is very proud of the profile building of Johnnie Johnson Housing in external networks, and especially the input into the Greater Manchester agenda, leading the Steering Groups on support to the Armed Forces and also Technology Enabled Care.

Paul Watson

Paul is Managing Director at Guinness Care and has more than 30 years’ experience in the housing and care sectors. He has been a member of the HCA Advisory Group on Older and Vulnerable People and formerly he advised the Department of Health on policies for older people and people with learning disabilities. He received an MBE for his work as Chief Executive of a homelessness organisation.

Sarah Mitton

Sarah is Clarion's first Age Friendly Community Manager and recently coordinated a cross-Group strategy into age friendly approaches to communities. With a background in social innovation, she is driven by exploring new ways of tackling challenges faced by an ageing population and has led on a number of new programmes for Clarion which put resident's voices at the heart of projects. These include designing and delivering a pop-up innovation lab programme; the sector's first Homeshare scheme; and a tenancy sustainment programme which sees residents training other residents in setting up their first tenancy.
