We look forward to sharing with you the exciting things we have planned for 2021 to coincide with the Housing LIN’s 10th anniversary independent of government.

  • over 509,000 webpage views
  • a membership increase of almost 20% with over 4,600 new registrations

  • published a total of 96 new Housing LIN resources: from blogs and viewpoints to case studies and reports, including our illustrated CollaborAGE directory.

We have pulled out the headlines below for more details.

WEB PRESENCE

With over ½ million unique page views, the 3 top topics viewed on our website are:

  1. HAPPI (Housing our Ageing Population: Panel for Innovation)
  2. Extra Care Housing, and
  3. Intergenerational Housing

But with the pandemic, these were closely followed by our new Coronavirus Info Hub which we developed as the pandemic was taking hold. As part of this hub, drawing on our and Housing LIN members’ experience and expertise, we also produced a series of 6 more detailed COVID-19 practice briefings which were amongst our most popular downloads in 2020.

POPULAR EVENTS

Last March, as a result of the pandemic, we quickly had to adapt the ways we engage and network with members. As a result, by we created the HAPPI Hour brand so that we could offer our sector showcase events to enhance learning and connect with other Housing LIN members virtually.

Following the success of our HAPPI Hour brand, we reframed the programme and rescheduled our high-profile annual conference (originally due to be held in late March 2020) to December 2020, rebranding it the ‘Housing LIN Summit 2020 – Reaching for the Top’.

Moving to a virtual platform allowed us to open registrations to up to 500 delegates at each session and share recordings of our sessions (opens new window), allowing us to reach in some cases an extra 350 people. Total views of these video recordings reached over 2,000 by the end of December 2020.

Throughout the year, in addition to our popular HAPPI Hour events, we also managed and/or cobranded 21 other events/conferences with supporters of our network. For example, last month, over 220 people joined us for the launch of the new APPG Inquiry report, Housing for people with dementia: Are we ready?

AN ACTIVE FORUM

The purpose of our peer-to-peer discussion forum allows Housing LIN members to share information, raise issues and ask questions that either enhance sector learning and/or aid professional and/or practice development.

For example, with increasing concern about the effect of COVID-19 on the retirement housing and supported housing sectors during the first few weeks of the pandemic, the Housing LIN was contacted by the MHCLG to urgently find out from our members if they had any specific PPE issues and any other related issues that needed to be escalated. We collated all the replies on our forum and informed MHCLG accordingly.

Other posts of interest discussed:

  • Re-opening of communal areas in sheltered schemes
  • Call for information: Sheltered/retirement housing & Covid-19 - current practice and issues
  • Coronavirus arrangements for meal provision in extra care housing
