Housing LIN South West Leadership Set resurrected
Following an enforced break as a result of the pandemic, the reformed Housing LIN’s Leadership Set in South West England met yesterday for its first meeting since February 2019. With thanks to St Monica Trust’s (SMT) sponsorship, we have brought together a selection of industry leaders across housing, health and social care to reestablish the group and champion sector-led improvement for an ageing population in the region.
Held at SMT’s iconic care village - The Chocolate Quarter - in Keynsham, the SW Leadership Set is setting out an ambitious programme for change across the region. In particular, it will seek to further enhance the housing choices of older people across the South West. It also looks forward to taking the recommendations by the government’s independent Older People’s Housing Taskforce expected early next year and identifying how they can be implemented to boost supply at a regional/sub-regional level across the South West.
Speaking at the relaunch, David Williams, Chief Executive at St Monica Trust, said:
“We are delighted to support this unique initiative in the South West. It accords with our 10 year strategy, Communities where older people flourish. The Leadership Set is an inspiring group of regional leaders passionate about driving sector-led improvements in the areas of older people’s housing. We are on a learning journey together.”
