With the General Election next week, it was great to see the Financial Times' coverage yesterday of the Housing and Ageing Alliance (HAA) calls for the political parties to address the housing needs of older people. See the letter from HAA Chair, Mario Ambrosi of Anchor, here: Letter: Not all housing solutions have to come with a hefty price tag (opens new window).

Coproduced with Older People’s Champions and leading sector agencies, you can also read the full manifesto and the 15 point plan from the HAA on the Housing LIN's website at Creating Homes We Want to Grow Old In: A 15-Point Plan from the Housing and Ageing Alliance.

The HAA manifesto also formed part of its submission to the Older People’s Housing Taskforce call for evidence. Commissioned by DHSC and DLUHC, we look forward to the incoming government’s response to this independence Taskforce’s recommendations and whether any of the HAA 15 point plan will be actioned.

Lastly, we are also very pleased to share that the HAA has been further strengthened by new members Bruce Moore of Housing 21, Abdul Ravat of Abbeyfield Society and Hilary Burkitt of Independent Age.
