Housing and Ageing Alliance publishes new manifesto

HAA Manifesto

The Housing and Ageing Alliance  has formally published its new Manifesto, Time for Action, available to download now on their webpage, hosted by the Housing LIN.

Sue Adams, chair of the H&A Alliance, has also written a short blog (opens new window) about the need for action to address housing for ageing.

Calling for better integrated policies for housing, health, and social care, the manifesto contains policy recommendations based on its three guiding proposals:

  • To enable older people to live independently and well wherever they choose, remaining in control of their homes and lives;
  • To create age-friendly homes, neighbourhoods and services that enable people to live healthy, fulfilling lives, involved with families, friends & neighbours and contributing to their communities in later life;
  • To create integrated housing, health & care policies all aiming to enable people to live safely & well at home as they age.
