Housing and Falls Prevention in 2024
During Falls Prevention Week last month (23-27 September), the Centre for Ageing Better published two insightful blogs. The first discussed analysis from the Building Research Establishment, which found that reducing home accidents could save the NHS £330 million annually. The second, by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, highlighted their falls prevention initiative in collaboration with Trent & Dove Housing Association.
We’ve provided links to these resources below, alongside a collection of other valuable tools that connect housing and falls prevention. These include the Housing, Health & Safety Rating System, various toolkits, guides and best practice examples.
