Inspiring Futures: Penultimate Meeting of the 2023 Future Leaders Programme
Kindly hosted by United St Saviour's Charity at Appleby Blue in Southwark, we were pleased to run the penultimate Meeting of the 2023 Future Leaders Programme!
After a warm welcome by Jeremy Porteus (Housing LIN), Martyn Craddock, CEO of United St Saviour’s Charity, led a tour around the scheme. Designed by Stirling Prize-winning architects, Witherford Watson Mann, Appleby Blue flips the conventional model of the almshouse as a retreat from society, built in the outer environs as an inward-looking development, firmly on its head.
We were then delighted to hear from Kay Allen OBE, founder of Age Irrelevance, Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Coach, and Richard Humphries, Visiting Professor, University of Worcester and Senior Advisor, The Health Foundation who shared what inspired them in their early career and the leadership qualities they recognise in others, along with how they applied them in their own work and leadership.
The Future Leaders then had the opportunity to network over lunch before the discussion turned to next year's leadership session as part of the Housing LIN's Summit - A Festival of Ideas, taking place from Monday 26th February to Friday 1st March. More on this to follow in the new year!
