Join us for this afternoon's HAPPI Hour, Shared Ownership for our Ageing Population (SO HAPPI), taking place on Tuesday, 23 May 2023 from 4:00pm - 5:15pm.

Following January's launch of the latest APPG on Housing and Care for Older People inquiry report, Making retirement living affordable: the role of shared ownership housing for older people, we are delighted to welcome Inquiry Chair, Lord Best, who will highlight the key findings and recommendations from the report.

This afternoon's HAPPI Hour will also welcome:

  • Paul Hackett, APPG report co-author at The Smith Institute

  • Tracey Harris, Independent Community Living Plus Liaison Officer at Saffron Housing Association and Estelle Corner from Howes Percival

  • Dr. Alison Wallace, Centre for Housing Policy, University of York

  • John Galvin, CEO at Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC)

During the HAPPI Hour event, speaker Tracey Harris will also delve into the latest Housing LIN Case Study (167) written by Stephen Maraj, Sales Manager at Saffron Housing Trust.

This new case study showcases Swallowtail Place, an innovative Independent Community Living Plus scheme comprising 58 apartments with a mixed-tenure arrangement. The scheme aims to address social loneliness and isolation by fostering a strong sense of community among residents, while also advocating for shared ownership.

And if you're interested in learning about the efforts made by Saffron Housing Trust to promote and market Swallowtail Place, we invite you to read our insightful guest blog titled, Getting the marketing and selling right for Older Persons Shared Ownership.

We hope to see you there!
