LINks - the Housing LIN's essential weekly bulletin (w/c 14 March)
Welcome to LINks, the weekly e-bulletin from the Housing LIN (Learning and Improvement Network) where we round up a selection of latest information, resources and events under the spotlight.
There were no 'sweeteners' in this week's budget for the specialist housing sector but, as previously reported, it confirmed that the date from which Local Housing Allowance caps apply to new tenancies in the supported accommodation sector will be delayed by one year (see Budget 2016 in the Funding, Policy & Practice section below). However, in the small print, commentators noted that the proposals thereafter appear to indicate a LHA cut of £1billion to social housing, supported and sheltered housing. If implemented this will be a bitter pill to swallow (see Other Views, News and Resources below)!
On a more positive note, we draw your attention to the following:

FORTHCOMING HOUSING LIN REGIONAL EVENTS
Eastern Region Housing LIN Meeting - Wymondham
The Housing LIN has recognised the importance to housing professionals in the public and private sectors of strong relationships and partnerships with colleagues in health and adult care. To support this objective the LIN steering group has worked closely with the East of England Local Government Association (EELGA) and Adult Directors of Social Care(ADASS) in the region to integrate housing into the decision making processes through the ADASS Health Integration Network.
We hope that you, as members of the LIN and other colleagues, will support this initiative at the next Housing LIN meeting in Wymondham on 4th May. It is an ideal opportunity to make sure we are all working together for the common goals of improving lives within the limited resources available.
Save the date! Registrations will open early next week.
