NEW HOUSING LIN RESOURCES
Older people and alcohol misuse: Helping people stay in their homes (opens new window)
This new Housing LIN practice briefing seeks to build an understanding of roles and the opportunities to work together to integrate services so that older people misusing alcohol can access the support and treatment they need to remain in their home (if appropriate) or to move into other accommodation where this is agreed to be more beneficial.

Exclusions from rent cut confirmed in new regulations include specialised supported housing (opens new window)
The NHF confirm that the introduction of the rent cut has been delayed by a year for supported housing, fully mutual cooperatives, almshouses and community land trusts.

The Equality Act 2010: the impact on disabled people (opens new window)
The House of Lords Select Committee on the Equality Act 2010 and Disability makes a strong recommendation on improving provision of accessible homes, stating:
"We believe that other local authorities should follow the example of London and revise their planning policy to require a significant proportion of new dwellings to be wheelchair accessible or wheelchair adaptable (standard M4(3)), and all other new dwellings to comply with optional standard M4(2)".
