Loneliness Awareness week 2020

This week is Loneliness Awareness Week and we are signposting to the webpages (opens new window) we launched as COVID-19 was taking hold. Supported by The Mercers Charitable Foundation, they cover 6 key themes that specifically address loneliness and isolation in relation to ageing and are relevant to the housing sector.

They include information on:

  • Ageing and Older Age
  • Assistive Technology
  • Care and Support
  • Dementia
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Homes and Communities

And as tweeted by @HousingLIN (opens new window), we are also looking for further practical examples of activities extra care housing and retirement/sheltered housing providers have put in place to address loneliness and isolation in schemes at this time.

Do tell us about any initiatives that you have put in place under lockdown by emailing a short description to: info@housinglin.org.uk.

Please state the names of the project, its aims, what it does, where it is, how residents have benefited, and any further info eg a web address.

Also do supply a contact name so we can get in touch for further information, if needed.
