NICE publish guidelines for the service design and delivery of those with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour

This guideline from the National Institute of Health & Care Excellence covers services for people with a learning disability and behaviour that challenges, and their family members, carers and day to day support.

NICE recommend that providing a range of services, including specialist support, in the community will minimise the need for inpatient admissions. Services covered are those for children, young people and adults across health and social care and education.

The document also promotes a lifelong approach to supporting people which emphasises prevention and early intervention.
