New Housing LIN Factsheet (No. 35) shares key landscape design principles for dementia care

HLIN Factsheet 35 cover

This new updated Housing LIN Factsheet (No. 35), written by Angeli Ganoo-Fletcher, Director and Helene Saulue, Associate at PRP, highlights the critical role that well-designed landscaped gardens can play in improving residents’ quality of life, promoting physical and mental health, and reducing the effects of cognitive decline.

Promoting research-informed landscape design for individuals with sensory and cognitive impairment, this Factsheet emphasises the importance of creating safe, attractive and accessible environments for older and disabled people. With a specific focus on housing in the care sector, it also provides key principles for designing for individuals with dementia.

It builds on the Housing LIN Factsheet No.35, first published in 2013.
