New Housing LIN webpages look at how we can combat social isolation and loneliness

Right now, we are all keenly aware of what isolation can feel like. Many of us are no doubt feeling lonely, and the problem can be exacerbated by age. Research shows that half a million older people experience regular and protracted periods of isolation, and that loneliness can have a negative impact on health outcomes and quality of life.

To address this urgent problem the Housing LIN has now created a new set of webpages featuring resources relating to social isolation and loneliness, and ways in which we can tackle the causes and consequences of loneliness.

Housing LIN Chief Executive Jeremy Porteus has written a new blog introducing the new pages and he asks how we can build resilient networks in order to combat social isolation and also download the new Housing LIN briefing that gives an A-Z of organisations that support people who are lonely and isolated.
