New blog shares insights into an Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach

This new blog by Kathleen Woodhouse highlights the work of the Knowle West Healthy Living Centre in South Bristol, focusing on their efforts to engage older people in the community through an Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach.

Since 2020, the project has been funded by Bristol-based charity the St Monica Trust as part of a three-year funding programme to find out what matters to older people, to build on community strength and support more social connections.

Kathleen highlights that while employing a community development approach may require time to yield results, it has ultimately helped establish sustainable new groups for older people.
