Re-engage and Anchor Hanover join forces to tackle the crisis of 'lockdown loneliness' in older people

In this guest blog for the Housing LIN, Anchor Hanover's Nick Sedgwick give an overview of the organisation's partnership with charity Re-engage and how this enabled them to reengineer their BeSupportive volunteering programme to provide a companionship call programme to address the loneliness and isolation felt by residents during the pandemic. 

As well as making sure that all those already receiving their support get a regular phone call throughout the lockdown, Re-engage is offering a call companion to anyone else of this generation who lives alone or in housing for older people and feels lonely or isolated.
