#StartsAtHome Day 2021

StartsAtHome day info

To coincide with #StartsAtHome day, celebrating the positive impact of Supported Housing, we would like to draw attention to a range of useful tools and information:

  • Better housing choices for people with learning disabilities or autism and a range of tools and examples of transformative practice.
  • A report by Mencap and Housing LIN that seeks to better understand the scale, nature and cost of supported housing, and draws on examples of good practice to inform the debate around funding for supported housing into the future.
  • Our newest #InspirationalAchievement featuring Sancturary Supported Living’s Shaftesbury Court, a residential care home for adults with physical and learning disabilities that has been shortlisted for a major industry award.
  • A blog post by Ian Gilders (opens new window), Chief Executive at Advance, who believes that long-term funding is vital for organisations to continue to provide supported homes for those who need them most. He calls for a realistic discussion about what could work to enable delivery of supported rented housing for people with a learning disability or autism.
