TAPPI Cast – 12 May 2023
Welcome to TAPPI Cast, our weekly update on the 'Technology for our Ageing Population: Panel for Innovation' (TAPPI) project which aims to improve the way technology is used in housing and care for older people.
This week we were delighted to publish a new TAPPI blog by Steve Sadler, Head of Technology Strategy at the TEC Services Association (TSA), in which he explains why we should all care about standards in TECS and how they can help people live good lives, sharing some of the big topics that have arisen from the TAPPI workshops that have been held so far with residents and with housing and service providers.
On Tuesday took place fifth TAPPI coproduction Champions Meeting. Chaired by our Co-Production and Engagement Partner, Co-Production Works, The group was joined by Steering Board Chair Roy Sandbach OBE. They discussed what's happening in their testbed how digital technology (opens new window) is starting to be used in their sites.
Updates from our Testbeds:
As the TEC continues to be embedded (opens new window) at Harling Court, we're grateful to have our wonderful Retirement Housing Officers onsite to support our residents around the clock. In addition to using technology to improve the safety, independence and connectivity of our customers, it's vital we continue to develop our own digital skills. As part of the TAPPI Project we're raising awareness amongst our colleagues of Technology Enabled Care and its potential to improve the lives of our customers.
Bield are concentrating on preparing for the grand opening of our digital hub in Linlithgow next week (Wednesday, 17th May). In addition to this, we have been focusing on ways to encourage tenants to complete the digital literacy survey and have had over 150 responses so far.
