Updates from our Testbeds:
The TAPPI team at Bield have been working towards the opening of the digital demonstration hub in Linlithgow and getting tenants signed up to the proactive telecare trial. The furniture and the finishing touches for the demonstration rooms at the hub have been ordered and we are in the process of ordering the technology. The team have procured the technology for the proactive telecare trial and are clarifying the list of tenants who will be participating so we can begin the install process towards the end of March.
On Thursday, Platform Housing collected 42 Samsung Galaxy tablets (opens new window) from their TEC partner, Community Housing. We can't wait to distribute these tablets to Harling Court residents, and beginning targeted coaching on using the devices for independence-enabling skills such as online shopping, banking, video calling, instant messaging, and medication monitoring.

The King's Fund has published a paper on digital health and care inclusion entitled ‘Moving from exclusion to inclusion in digital health and care’. The authors of this paper explain that digital technologies can change how care is delivered, making health and care services more accessible, flexible, person centred, and a better experience for patients and staff while also improving efficiency. However, there is no guarantee of these positive effects until digitally enabled services are inclusive and meet the expectations of staff and the public.
