The ‘World Alzheimer Report 2020' update
The ‘World Alzheimer Report 2020: Design, Dignity, Dementia: dementia-related design and the built environment’ report webpages, published by Alzheimer’s Disease International, have recently been updated.
These pages now include a ‘Guide for using World Alzheimer Report 2020 in national dementia plans (opens new window)’. This guide, developed by the co-lead authors of the World Alzheimer Report 2020, has been created to assist those using the World Alzheimer Report 2020 as a source for including the design of the built environment in national dementia plans.
There is now also a new webpage signposting to the ‘The dignity manifesto of design – for people living with dementia’ and an opportunity for you to add your name (opens new window) to the public document. The Housing LIN are proud to sign up to this manifesto.
Further to these updates, the World Alzheimer Report 2022 authors have published a blog (opens new window), ‘The built environment and national dementia plans’ that discusses the creation of a new national dementia plan guide which aims to aid policymakers and interested people looking to include dementia-related design in their own national dementia plans.
