This week's HLINks: 20 - 24 March 2023
This week, we were delighted to collaborate with a coalition comprising 70+ organisations, advocating for the appointment of a Commissioner for Older People and Ageing in England (opens new window), as well as improved representation of older individuals in government policy and decision-making.
With specialist housing in mind, we also supported RIBA and a coalition of organisations by signing a letter to DLUHC urging the government to reduce the height threshold for multiple staircases in new residential buildings from 30 metres to 18 metres.
On the publication front, we have 2 new Housing LIN guest blogs: the first, written by Dr. Robin Darton from the University of Kent PSSRU, shares the benefit of extra care housing, and the second by Laetitia Cailleteau from Accenture on their technology-related UKRI Healthy Ageing Challenge project with Hafod Housing Association in Wales.
